Studio Materials & Policies

About Studio Materials

Fabio di Vetro studio materials are handmade glass components created by a practising glass artist and intended for use in kiln-formed, fused, and experimental glass work. These items are sold as art materials, not finished artworks.

Glass Compatibility & COE

All glass materials are clearly labelled with their COE (Coefficient of Expansion).

Unless otherwise stated, studio materials are made using 100% COE 96 glass.

As a glass artist, I understand how important compatibility is. Materials are prepared carefully to minimise cross-contamination; however, I recommend testing materials in your own kiln and firing schedules before using them in finished work.

Glass of different COEs should never be mixed.

Handmade Variations

All studio materials are handmade in small batches.

Natural variations in thickness, length, and colour density are to be expected and are part of the handmade process.

Product images are representative examples. Each pack will be similar, but not identical.

Weights, Sizes & Quantities

Studio materials are sold by weight (for example 50g or 100g), as stated in each listing.

Lengths, diameters, and thicknesses are approximate and provided as guidance only.

If your project requires specific dimensions, please contact me before purchasing.

Packaging

Orders are carefully packed to protect fragile glass materials during transit.

Packaging may include protective sleeves, storage boxes, and internal padding. I aim to balance protection with minimal and responsible packaging wherever possible.

Dispatch & Shipping

Dispatch time: Orders are usually dispatched within 1–3 working days of payment being received.

Shipping area: Orders are currently shipped within the United Kingdom. If you are outside the UK, please contact me before ordering.

Breakage in Transit

Glass is fragile. While every effort is made to pack orders securely, minor breakage can occasionally occur.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery and include clear photographs of the damage and packaging. We will work together to find a fair solution.

Returns & Cancellations

Cancellations: Orders may be cancelled before dispatch. Once posted, they cannot be cancelled.

Returns: Due to the nature of handmade glass materials, items are not returnable once opened or used. Returns are accepted only for faulty or incorrect items.

Intended Use & Responsibility

Studio materials are intended for glass artists and makers and require appropriate kiln-forming knowledge. Fabio di Vetro cannot be held responsible for firing results, compatibility issues arising from mixed materials, or damage caused by kiln schedules outside recommended ranges.

Testing materials before use in finished work is always recommended.
